First of all, let me start by apologizing for all of the pictures. As you can see, this was a very scenic day. We started off by packing up camp in Fall City. Once packed, we went to see the Snoqualmie Falls Park which was quite close to our campground. The waterfall was beautiful along with all the beautiful foliage around the trail.
After our quick look at the falls, we headed back to Julie and Bruce's house for the final meal of the reunion. Once again they did a wonderful job and provided a delicious breakfast. Thank you so much Julie, Bruce, Brent and clan for hosting such a terrific Lefavor Reunion, the area was beautiful, food was delicious, and the entertainment/visiting was fabulous as always. You've really set the standards high! Thank you!!
Next we were off for the next leg of our trip at Deception Pass State Park on an island North of Seattle. I can't say enough how beautiful this campsite was. We were in walking distance of the ocean, there were bunnies spotted throughout the campsite and best of all, the weather was finally cooler. Once we were settled in camp, we pretty much spent the rest of the afternoon and evening just relaxing and spending time on the beach. It really was the perfect spot, we could go to the North Beach which was covered with colorful ocean rocks or we could go to the West beach which had sand. We spent some time in the afternoon at the North Beach and then at sunset went to the West Beach.

Day 4 started out with some fun crafts for the kids at Beth's house. They each got to paint a tile, make a rainfall stick and make sculptures using frosting, marshmallows, toothpicks, straws, candy, etc. It was great entertainment for them all.

After the crafts, Lynn and Jim were wonderful dads and took the kids swimming at Kelly and Wade's hotel. Of course they couldn't just swim, they had to take advantage of having the room key. So, they short-sheeted their bed, turned up the heat in room to 80 degrees and Lynn rubbed shampoo on Kelly's glasses. It was pretty funny listening to their experience the next day. Especially since Wade didn't know what it meant to short-sheet a bed. Apparently he was kicking the covers really hard trying to figure out what the maid had done.
While they were swimming, Kelly, Kris and I went to lunch at a delicious Italian Restaurant called Coyote Creek and then went the SAM, the Seattle Art Museum. I know I am completely uncultured when it comes to art, but we had a great time and saw some interesting pieces of work (i.e. a painted toilet sculpture, stacked beer bottles to make a sculpture, you know basic modern art). One of my favorites was a piece titled Some/One 2001 by Do-Ho Suh. It was a coat made completely of military dog tags and stood about 6 1/2 feet tall with a radius of about 15 feet. Another of my favorites was a little iron toy horse that was dated approximately 610 B.C. (I think). I am always amazed at the preservation of items. For example, things that were made of glass, crystal or porcelain that have lasted for hundreds and hundreds of years. After the museum and swimming, we all met back at Julie and Bruce's house for a wonderful "Tastes of the South" dinner. Once again the food was delicious and everyone had a great time.

Wednesday, July 22nd, we met Lynn in Brigham City on his way home from work and headed of on our journey to Seattle. That night we made it to Boise that night and spent the night in a hotel. Madi kept calling the hotel a mall and even in her prayers she said "Bless us we will have fun spending the night at this mall." It was really cute.
Thursday morning we slept in a little, got breakfast at the hotel restaurant and continued driving. We got to the Snoqualmie River Camp Ground in Fall City, Washington that evening at about 6:30. Mom and dad were already there so we set up camp and then got dinner at a local cafe. Bring on the grease. The kids were exhausted so we just headed back to camp and they quickly fell asleep. Friday we woke up and traveled into Seattle with Mom and Dad. We went to the top of the Space Needle and to Pike's Market to eat lunch. After Pike's Market, Mom and Dad went on their own little ride and we went to find a lighthouse on Magnolia Blvd. North of Seattle. Unfortunately we never found it, but the kids fell asleep for a little nap so that was good. Then we drove South of Seattle, crossed West towards the Puget Sound and went to the Alki Beach area and let the kids play by the water a little bit. When we were on the pier, a ferry boat came in and we said "Oh, look at the ferry kids." Madi kept saying she couldn't see the 'fairy' and was getting very frustrated. We finally realized that she was looking for a real little flying fairy and then we were able to explain that it was a boat, not a fairy. After that she was just curious about the captain of the ferry and where he gets to turn the big wheel to drive. I guess we need to clarify a little more next time.

Today was a bad mom day. I had rented the movie Benji from the library for the kids to watch because I remember it being one of my favorite movies as a kid. The movie started and I went into the office to get a little work done while the kids were occupied. About half way through I asked them how they were doing and Parker broke into tears. He said, while sobbing "Mom, you didn't tell me this was a sad movie." I was heart broken for the pore kid. So I sat with them and asked why it was so sad and he told me how Benji was lost and his owners couldn't find him. He kept seeing his owners, but he couldn't talk to tell them where he was. It was so sad to see how worked up he was about it. I guess we won't be renting Where the Red Fern Grows or Old Yeller anytime soon.
Parker jumped right in and started catching the crabs once we told him they were too small to pinch.

Once we were in the car after clamming, Madi asked what were going to do next and I said we were going to find a local restaurant for dinner. She thought about it for a second and then said "Hey, McDonald's is a restaurant!" Great idea Madi, maybe next time!
Another funny from Madi that evening was when we were back at camp she was holding the hermit crab shell up to her ear listening to the ocean and she started talking to it like it was a telephone. She even said "Hello ocean, I love you!"
