Benji = Tears
Today was a bad mom day. I had rented the movie Benji from the library for the kids to watch because I remember it being one of my favorite movies as a kid. The movie started and I went into the office to get a little work done while the kids were occupied. About half way through I asked them how they were doing and Parker broke into tears. He said, while sobbing "Mom, you didn't tell me this was a sad movie." I was heart broken for the pore kid. So I sat with them and asked why it was so sad and he told me how Benji was lost and his owners couldn't find him. He kept seeing his owners, but he couldn't talk to tell them where he was. It was so sad to see how worked up he was about it. I guess we won't be renting Where the Red Fern Grows or Old Yeller anytime soon.

Summer Swimming Lessons
We did swimming lessons for two weeks again this year at the Sports Academy and the kids did great! Madi was a lot more comfortable with the water and was even doing head bobs by the end. Parker has started learning the front crawl and back stroke and can go as long as he can hold his breath. It is always a busy 2 weeks, but they have a lot of fun swimming so it's worth it.

Dahle Camping Trip
The weekend of July 4th was our "trying to be annual" Dahle camping trip. Lance and Lisa and our family got to camp Thursday night and then the rest all came on Friday. We went up Franklin Basin close to the same spot we had last year with my family camping trip. It was a nice relaxing few days and the kids had a blast playing with their cousins. We rode four wheelers, went fishing, ate great food and went swimming at Bear Lake.

That evening we headed back to camp, ate dinner and packed everything up to head home so we could be home for church since Lynn had to teach. Once we got home and got bathed we were able to do a few fireworks in the yard to celebrate July 4th. Happy Independence Day!
